Senate Republicans Mourn the Loss of Former Senator Carl Crabtree

Boise, Idaho – [May 8, 2025] – The Idaho Senate Republican Caucus is saddened to hear of the passing of former Senator Carl Crabtree. Senator Crabtree served in the Idaho State Senate from 2016-2022. He served on the Senate Transportation and Senate Education Committees as well as the Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee. Senator Crabtree was known for his untiring advocacy and passion for a quality education for Idaho’s kids.

“Senator Crabtree will be missed but his service to the State of Idaho will live on. He loved Idaho and he served the state well,” said Senator Pro Tempore Kelly Anthon.

Even after his time in the Idaho Senate ended, Senator Crabtree continued to advocate for improvements in education, focusing on the areas of dyslexia and early literacy, enhancing education throughout the State.

He will be missed, as he was a friend to many while serving in various capacities within the Idaho State Senate.
